"It is only through open communication that your attorney can best understand your case and set up realistic expectations and goals for your matter," she said.

The key to a successful case is organization since it is one of the most important aspects of a family law proceeding, according to Ms. Cunningham.

"You have to be extremely organized when it comes to family law matters. Settlement discussions and hearings will often move quickly and the best way to win is to be prepared and know your case," she said. "You have to be familiar with each document related to your case and be prepared to present it into evidence at a moment’s notice. Being organized is more than half the battle, and the courts especially appreciate a well-organized proceeding."

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Ms. Cunningham practiced with a small general practice firm and focused primarily on family law with some practice involving criminal law and estate planning.

Volunteer Work

Ms. Cunningham volunteers with the organization, Peter's Place, in Radnor, Pennsylvania. Peter's Place is a Center for Children coping with the loss of a family member.
