While practicing corporate and environmental law for a large Chicago law firm, Jennifer de Lyon Stralka found her most rewarding cases resulted from her volunteer work where she was able to use her skills and passion to make significant changes in people's lives.

She said she never forgot the impact her volunteer work had on her clients and vowed to become a family law attorney.

"Essentially, I am passionate about my client's case and believe in being as diligent as possible in the pursuit of justice for him and his family," she said.

Ms. de Lyon Stralka is licensed in Illinois and New Jersey.

Education

Ms. de Lyon Stralka received her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. She received her juris doctor from Vermont Law School.

Experience

Ms. de Lyon Stralka has practiced in many areas of law, including family law, environmental, corporate law, real estate, products liability and employment law.

She is also a certified Guardian Ad Litem.

•    Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Symposium, June 01, 2006 - Speaker on the Legal Implications of the Avian Bird Flu at the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Symposium, sponsored by the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the Denton County Health Department. Purpose of event was to instruct government and non-government actors on business continuity planning in the potential wake of disaster/widespread illness.
•    Influenza Pandemic Preparedness, May 26, 2006  - Panelist member on discussion of facts surrounding the pandemic flu as well as business continuity planning and preparedness related to an outbreak of same.

Volunteer Work

Ms. de Lyon Stralka worked for two years for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago. She currently assists secular organizations on a pro bono basis with various legal matters.

She also recently helped a local church – Harvest Bible Chapel St. Louis West – obtain its first church building by handling all the contract work involved.
