In one particular case, Mr. Ellis was able to help a father achieve his goal of more parenting time with his children despite the Guardian Ad Litem’s clear bias in favor of the mother.

Unfortunately in this case, courts are very likely to follow the recommendation of the Guardian Ad Litem, who is required to put the best interest of the minor child(ren) above anything else, including preconceived biases.

However, Mr. Ellis was able to convince both the Guardian Ad Litem and the court that it was in the child’s best interest to be in the custody of the father, which was ultimately granted.

Mr. Ellis is licensed in Oklahoma and is a member of the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma Federal District Courts; the Tenth Circuit for the United States Appellate Courts; and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Education

Mr. Ellis received his bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing and Economics) and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma.

Experience

Mr. Ellis has practiced in a wide variety of civil litigation matters from employment contract disputes to Replevin actions. He has worked in personal injury cases representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

He has also provided estate-planning services and handled numerous probates.

In addition, Mr. Ellis has approximately five years experience in family and domestic related actions, including divorce, child custody, and guardianships.

Awards
