Denise M. Fiorillo said she is compassionate about her clients' situations and has a reputation of being reasonable, but not at the expense of a client.

"I can easily recognize the strengths and weaknesses in a case, have the courtroom experience which helps me recognize the reasonable chance of success," Ms. Fiorillo said. "I will go to trial if it is warranted and have the ability, knowledge and confidence that has allowed me to be successful at trial."

She knows how overwhelming and scary the judicial process can be, especially for many who are experiencing it for the first time. That's why she works hard to help men cope with the process while working toward the best resolution in the case.

"When you find yourself in a situation where you have to litigate very private issues, like in a divorce or custody case, having an experienced attorney by your side can make all the difference," Ms. Fiorillo said.

Ms. Fiorillo is licensed to practice in the state of Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

Education

Ms. Fiorillo received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Philosophy from the Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado in 1997. In 2001, she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, College of Law.

Experience

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Ms. Fiorillo clerked for the Honorable Robert H. Russell II in the 18th Judicial District. From 2002-2008, she was a Deputy District Attorney from at the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. While there, Ms. Fiorillo handled high profile cases including homicides and complex mental health defenses.

She was on the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and acted as a liaison between the agencies. Later, she worked for a Civil Law Firm, representing the State of Colorado in cases involving the establishment of paternity and child support.

In 2009, her passion for law led her to opening her own practice, focusing on all aspects of family law until she joined Cordell & Cordell.

Ms. Fiorillo is a member of the El Paso County Bar, El Paso County Women’s Bar Association, and the Colorado Bar Association.

Volunteer Work

Outside of her professional associations, she gives back to her community by raising money for charity, and has taught at the local citizen’s academies and the Colorado Springs Police Department Training Academy.
