Jason P. Hopper Jason P. Hopper's passion for family law comes from seeing tears flowing in his office almost daily. "I often see people when the bottom has fallen out of their lives, and they simply need help finding their way again," he said. According to Mr. Hopper, there is nothing more personal and important in a person's life than their children and their financial security. "If you have ever been fortunate enough to help someone when they needed it the most it is a pretty incredible feeling," Mr. Hopper said. "I got to experience this feeling with my first family law client, and continue to experience it on almost a daily basis when I assist my clients in putting together a plan to put the pieces of their lives back together." When representing any father in domestic litigation, Mr. Hopper said he strives to analyze his client's needs and goals, and then develop a comprehensive and collaborative strategy to achieve those goals and deliver the best possible results." Mr. Hopper has appeared in The Wall Street Journal and Indiana Lawyer, among other publications. LicensesMr. Hopper is licensed in all state and appellate courts in the state of Indiana, U.S. District Court Northern District Indiana, U.S. District Court Southern District Indiana, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court Southern District Indiana. EducationMr. Hopper received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Business from Wabash College. He received his Juris Doctor with a Litigation Concentration from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. ExperienceWhile in law school, Mr. Hopper served as a judicial law clerk with the Circuit, Paternity, and Title IV-D Courts of Marion County, Indiana. He also is a former probation officer with the Miami County, Indiana Probation Department. Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Mr. Hopper worked with a Carmel, Indiana, family law firm and focused his domestic litigation practice to assist persons with marital estates involving family owned businesses, as well as, parents involved with high conflict child custody and parenting time disputes. He also has represented individuals, as well as group and class litigants, in employment, personal injury, and insurance disputes in both State and Federal Courts, arbitration, and various administrative agencies. Since joining Cordell & Cordell, Mr. Hopper has been named the firms “Rookie of the Year” (2010) and “Regional Top Performer” (2011). These awards were both based on surveys of client satisfaction and results, and compliance with firm procedures. Mr. Hopper has also been a guest lecturer at Cordell & Cordell’s annual continuing legal education seminars.
