Scott C. Trout is the Executive/Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Cordell & Cordell, a firm focusing exclusively on domestic relations.

He received his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.S.B.A. in Finance Economics and Philosophy from Rockhurst University.

Volunteer Work

Mr. Trout is an Executive Board Member for Lawyers for Kids in St. Louis, Missouri, an organization ensuring the safety of children in high-conflict custody disputes. He also serves as the School Board President of West County Christian Academy in Town and Country, Missouri.

Mr. Trout has been recognized by his peers and his professional accomplishments by being named Super Lawyer in the area of Domestic Relations for 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2006.

Other Qualifications

He is a prominent speaker, and has presented to fellow attorneys at CLE seminars regarding the state of matrimony and numerous Family Law topics.

Mr. Trout was appointed in 2008 to serve on the St. Louis County Domestic Violence Council to review and make recommendations to changes in the law regarding Orders of Protection and to provide input as to reorganizing the court structure in hearing ex parte Orders of Protection from the perspective of representing men facing divorce.

He was appointed in 2010 as a Special Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Domestic Violence Court in St. Louis. This court assists men facing criminal violations for Adult Abuse/Domestic Violence actions.

Mr. Trout has appeared on nationally syndicated radio discussing various issues affecting men and divorce and most recently appeared on The Dr. Phil Show discussing Social Networking and Divorce.

He is the author of several articles, including "The Role of the Child and Fighting for Custody" and "Drafting Settlement and Separation Agreements."
