Spencer E. Williams is a Partner of Cordell & Cordell. Prior to joining the firm, he was a hearing officer and litigation attorney for the Department of Social Services, an experience he said gave him a strong attention to details. "This is an emotional time for the clients and you can not rely upon someone to 'keep their head in the game' for several months or even a year while going through the life changes and emotional draining process of a divorce," Mr. Williams said. "The client requires an attorney that will keep the details of the case." He outlined three key points clients should follow in order to help stay on top of their case. 1. Be organized. In every divorce case financial documents such as: bank statements, credit card, debt statements, retirement fund information, tax records, and pay stubs will be requested by your attorney. 2. Be involved. Stay active in your children’s lives and activities. 3. Be informed. Ask questions of your attorney if you are unsure of an issue. Mr. Williams has tried numerous cases dealing with complex custody issues, maintenance, business assets and personal asset division. He has argued cases before all three Missouri Appellate Courts.
